Saturday Sew: The Traveler’s Coin Purse

Summer Adventure is here! Master zippers and head home with a finished traveler's coin purse! Perfect for carrying your cards, coins and spf lip balm. Conquer your fear of zippers! We’re stitching secure coin purses—essential for summer travel with a small classroom setting. Tips for a clean zipper and calm cheerleading to help you slowly work your way towards success.

  • Skill Level: Confident Beginner (Can thread your machine). Kids are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.

  • What's Included: Full kit provided ($65). Pick your fabric at the event! You will get to choose your choice of pre-cut Pendleton wool fabric, zipper color and color of leather for zipper pull.

  • Attendee Supply Checklist:

  • THE FEET: Standard Foot PLUS your ZIPPER FOOT. (Crucial!)

  • The "Vitals": Sewing Machine, Power Cord and Foot Pedal. (It’s the #1 thing left behind!)

  • The Needle: Fresh Universal 80/12 needle installed.

  • The Bobbin: Bring at least two bobbins pre-wound with coordinating thread.

  • The Tool Kit: Fabric Scissors/Rotary Cutter, Seam Ripper, and straight pins or clips.

There is free parking on the backside of Urbanite in their private parking lot. The sewing event is on the second floor in the Events Loft. There will be signs when you walk in the main entrance. Shop employees will be happy to help you navigate to the location.
